Wattson ("we", "our", "the App") is a professional electrical calculation tool developed for electricians, engineers, and designers. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information Stored Locally

All your preferences, settings, and calculation data are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers. This includes:

  • Your selected electrical standard (IEC/NEC)
  • Theme, language, and calculator default preferences
  • Purchase status (Pro unlock)

2.2 AI Assistant

When you use the "Ask Wattson" AI assistant feature, your messages are sent to Google's Gemini API for processing. Google's privacy policy governs the handling of this data. We do not store your conversation history on any server. Conversations exist only in your device's memory during the active session.

2.3 In-App Purchases

Purchase transactions are handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not collect, process, or store any payment information, credit card numbers, or billing details.

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect:

  • Personal identification information (name, email, phone)
  • Location data
  • Device identifiers or advertising IDs
  • Usage analytics or tracking data
  • Contacts, photos, or any other device data

4. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

  • Google Gemini API — for the AI assistant feature. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Apple App Store / Google Play — for in-app purchases. Subject to their respective privacy policies.
  • Sentry — for crash reporting in production. Collects anonymous error data only, no PII.

5. Data Security

Since all user data is stored locally on your device, data security is managed by your device's operating system security features (encryption, passcode protection, etc.). We have no access to your locally stored data.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is designed for professional use and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected within the App with an updated "Last updated" date.
