1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Wattson ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Wattson is a professional electrical calculation tool that provides wire sizing, voltage drop, breaker sizing, conduit fill, box fill, dwelling load, and other electrical calculations based on IEC 60364 and NEC (NFPA 70) standards. The App also includes an AI-powered assistant for electrical engineering questions.

3. Disclaimer of Liability — IMPORTANT

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

ALL CALCULATIONS, RESULTS, RECOMMENDATIONS, AND DATA PROVIDED BY THE APP (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WIRE SIZING, AMPACITY VALUES, BREAKER RATINGS, CONDUIT FILL, BOX FILL, LOAD CALCULATIONS, AND AI ASSISTANT RESPONSES) ARE FOR INFORMATIONAL AND REFERENCE PURPOSES ONLY.

WATTSON IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING JUDGMENT, LICENSED ELECTRICAL DESIGN, OR OFFICIAL CODE COMPLIANCE VERIFICATION. YOU MUST INDEPENDENTLY VERIFY ALL CALCULATIONS AND RESULTS BEFORE USING THEM IN ANY ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION, DESIGN, OR PROJECT.

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or currentness of any calculation, table value, code reference, or recommendation provided by the App. Electrical codes and standards are periodically updated, and local jurisdictions may adopt amendments or different editions.

4. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL WATTSON, ITS DEVELOPERS, AFFILIATES, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH:

  • Any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in calculations or data
  • Any reliance on calculations, results, or recommendations provided by the App
  • Any electrical installation, design, or project decisions made based on App output
  • Property damage, personal injury, or death resulting from the use of the App
  • Any failure of the App to comply with local, national, or international electrical codes
  • Any responses provided by the AI assistant feature

THIS LIMITATION APPLIES REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY (CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE) AND EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

5. User Responsibilities

By using the App, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You are a qualified professional or are working under the supervision of a qualified professional
  • All electrical work must be performed by licensed electricians in accordance with applicable local codes and regulations
  • You will independently verify all calculations against the applicable edition of the electrical code adopted by your jurisdiction
  • You will not rely solely on the App for life-safety or code-compliance decisions
  • You are responsible for ensuring that any electrical installation complies with all applicable codes, standards, and regulations
  • The App's reference to specific NEC or IEC articles does not constitute legal or professional advice

6. AI Assistant Disclaimer

The AI assistant feature ("Ask Wattson") uses artificial intelligence to respond to electrical engineering questions. AI responses may contain errors, hallucinations, or outdated information. AI responses do not constitute professional engineering advice and must not be relied upon as the sole basis for any design or installation decision.

7. In-App Purchases

The App offers a one-time Pro unlock via in-app purchase. All purchases are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play and are subject to their respective terms and refund policies. We do not process payments directly.

8. Intellectual Property

The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Wattson and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. NEC is a registered trademark of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). IEC is a trademark of the International Electrotechnical Commission. These trademarks are used for reference purposes only.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Wattson, its developers, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your use of the App or your violation of these Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
